Savaii Tour No. 10

This tour is an interesting one with a trip to Savaii Island by ferry for 1 hour and 30 minutes depart Mulifanua wharf at 10.00am and returning at 5.30pm. This ferry trip is a highlight of this tour with breath taking views of Manono Island , Apolima Island , Upolu and Savaii on the way. Once you arrive at Salelologa, your tour will take you to Falealupo to start from there with sightseeing, walking trails, swimming and snorkeling.

Next is a stop at Lover's Leap, a story about a blind woman and her only child who jumped off the cliff because of family problems. The woman soon afterwards turned into a turtle as the child turned into a shark. A fascinating story to absorb and to enjoy the view surrounding this special area.

A visit to the Alofaaga Blowholes in Taga situated on the west coast are the magnificent blowholes where water rushes into the blowholes and shoots up to 30m high, with thunderous force and noise. Take postcard pictures and enjoy breathtaking views of the area for a while.

Another stop is at the Mu Pagoa Waterfall, its Samoa 's largest river and tumbles 5m into the sea near the bridge between the villages of Puleia and Gautavai. This river is busy most of the time with children and women from the village washing clothes and bathing.

Next is a visit to the Tia Seu Ancient Mound known as the stone ‘pyramid' and is the largest ancient structure in Polynesia , and stands more than 12m tall. A few minutes walk is required to get to this pyramid and children might find this walk uncomfortable in the heat.

This tour ends with a sightseeing drive back to Salelologa for a return ferry ride at 4pm to Mulifanua. Please keep in mind that our time for all stops for this tour is limited due to ferry rides to and from Savaii but we will be happy to take requests of any other sites you might want to see on the way that are not included in our program for today without any extra costs if time permits. For families with young kids, we will safeguard all the children in shallow waters if you wish to join our snorkeling team or other activities in deeper waters. We will also have a selection of handcrafted souvenirs on board.
